How to reach us
By public transport
Take tram No. 2 (from ‘Bahnhof SBB’ or ‘Badischer Bahnhof’) to the ‘Kunstmuseum’ stop, then walk along Rittergasse and across Münsterplatz to the museum entrance at Münsterplatz 20.
By car
Take the motorway exit marked ‘Basel City’ or ‘Badischer Bahnhof’. Please follow the parking guidance system and use the multi-story car parks in the centre of Basel. There are no parking facilities at the museum.

Trainees under the age of 30 with proof of eligibility CHF 5.00

The entry charges can be paid in Euro.
Reduced or free admission only on presentation of proof of eligibility.

Photography and filming
Taking photographs for private purposes (without flash) is permitted. Commercial photography must be authorised by the museum management.
Some rules of conduct
- Food and drink are not permitted in the museum.
- Smoking is not permitted in any area of the museum.
- Animals must be left outside. Only guide dogs are permitted in the museum area.
- Luggage, backpacks, bags, suitcases etc. must be left at the cloakroom. Handbags up to A4 size may be taken into the exhibition.
- Please place umbrellas into the umbrella stand provided.
- The museum attendants are responsible for your safety and that of the exhibits. Please support the staff in their work and follow their instructions.
